Job Opportunity: 1099 In-Home Caregiver (Shohola, PA)

We are seeking a compassionate, professional, and patient \*\*1099 Independent Contractor\*\* to provide care for a senior male in his home. This position is ideal for a proactive caregiver who values clinical autonomy and wants to take an active role in shaping a care plan that truly meets the client's needs.

The Role & Professional Autonomy

While we are beginning with a baseline evening schedule, we are looking for a caregiver who can help us define the long-term plan. As the professional directly involved in daily care, you will be expected to:

\*Assess and Consult: Evaluate the client’s needs and patterns to recommend the most effective hours for care.

\* Maintain Flexibility: While we start with 3 nights a week (\*\*6 PM – 12 AM\*\*), your schedule should be open enough to adjust as we determine which days and hours provide the best support for the client and the household.

\*Core Responsibilities

\*\*Personal Care: Assistance with bathing and incontinence care.

\*\*Household Support: Light housekeeping, laundry, and grocery shopping.

\*\*Transportation: Providing transport to and from doctor appointments.

\*\*Medication Reminders: Assisting with daily medication as scheduled.

\*\*Behavioral Management: Using professional experience to navigate dementia-related symptoms, including firm or stubborn behavior, with patience and de-escalation.

Requirements

\*Experience: Minimum of 3 years in home health, nursing homes, hospitals, or similar.

\*Clinical Expertise: Significant experience with Dementia care and cognitive decline.

\*Credentials: Valid Driver’s License, car insurance in your name, and ability to pass a background check.

\*References: 2 professional references required.

\*Environment: Must be comfortable with pets (4 friendly pugs and poodles).

Caregiver Support & Household Dynamics

The household includes a secondary resident who may occasionally have high-stress outbursts. The family maintains a clear safety protocol: if a situation becomes more than you can handle, you are encouraged to excuse yourself from the home to allow things to calm down.

The family and I will interview 3 to 4 qualified candidates to find the right fit. We are looking for a partner in care who is confident in their expertise and ready to help guide this care plan toward success.
