Job Title: Mobile Plant Engineer

Location: Doncaster

Job type: Full time, Permanent.

Pay: £18 -£23 p/h

Hours of Work: 7:00am - 5:00pm, 5 days per week (some weekend working required for servicing)

We are looking for an experienced Mobile Plant Fitter to join our team on a permanent basis. This is a site-based position where you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing a wide range of heavy mobile plant equipment.

Although the machinery is mobile, this is not a field service role. The successful candidate will be based on one site, carrying out planned maintenance and repairs to keep equipment operating safely and efficiently.

Please note: This position is not suitable for car mechanics. We require an experienced heavy mobile plant engineer with proven knowledge of construction, waste, recycling, or industrial plant machinery.

As a Plant Engineer, you will be responsible for:

Service, maintain and repair heavy mobile plant equipment.

Diagnose and rectify mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.

Use manufacturer diagnostic software to identify and resolve issues.

Repair engines, hydraulic systems, rams and axles.

Carry out welding and fabrication repairs where required.

Perform routine servicing and preventative maintenance.

Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company standards.

Maintain accurate service and repair records.

Experience working on the following equipment is essential

Loading Shovels

360 Grabs

Forklift Trucks (FLT)

Telehandlers

Other heavy mobile plant

The ideal candidate:

Proven experience as a Heavy Mobile Plant Fitter/Engineer.

Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.

Experience using plant diagnostic software.

Excellent knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics and electrical systems.

Competent in repairing hydraulic rams and axles.

Welding and fabrication experience.

Ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively.

* Full UK driving licence preferred.
