**The Role**

The Ab Initio Tech Lead is responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing enterprise-scale ETL solutions using the Ab Initio platform. Acting as a senior technical leader, the role involves hands-on solution delivery, architectural alignment, performance optimization, and guidance to engineering teams.

**Your responsibilities:**

• Solution Design & Architecture: Lead end‑to‑end Ab Initio architecture, including ETL design, component optimization, and integration with enterprise data platforms.
• Technical Leadership: Guide developers, review design artifacts, enforce coding standards, and provide best‑practice recommendations.
• ETL Development: Build and enhance Ab Initio graphs, plans, PDL components, and conduct parallel processing optimization.
• Performance Tuning: Diagnose and optimize long‑running jobs, memory usage, parallelism, and resource allocation for large‑scale data systems.
• Environment Coordination: Work with Admin/Infra teams on environment setup, version upgrades, deployment, and resolving platform‑level issues.
• Data Quality & Governance: Implement data validation frameworks, profiling routines, and ensure adherence to data governance standards.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with business, data analysts, and architects to translate requirements into scalable ETL solutions.
• Testing & Release Support: Oversee SIT/UAT activities, create validation scripts, troubleshoot defects, and support production releases.
• Documentation & Standards: Create technical design documents, solution patterns, runbooks, and reusable frameworks.
• Continuous Improvement: Evaluate emerging Ab Initio features, automation opportunities, and drive process/technology enhancements.

**Your Profile**

**Essential skills/knowledge/experience:**

• Ab Initio Expertise: Co>Op, GDE, EME, Conduct>IT, Control Center, Continuous Flows
• ETL Development: Graph design, PDL, Plans, parameterization, metadata-driven frameworks
• Data Engineering Skills: Unix/Linux scripting, SQL (Oracle/DB2/Teradata), performance tuning
• Architecture: High‑volume ETL architecture, parallel processing, distributed environments
• Versioning & Release: EME branching, version control, migration, deployment scripts
• Debugging & Optimization: Troubleshooting ETL failures, dependency mapping, system logs
• Methodology: Agile/Scrum delivery experience
• Tools: Autosys/Control‑M, Git, JIRA, Confluence
• Data Quality: Profiling, validation rules, exception handling frameworks
• Communication: Ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams and lead technical discussions

**Desirable** **skills/knowledge/experience:**

• Hadoop ecosystem (Hive, HDFS, Spark) is an advantage
• Cloud data platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) exposure highly desirable
• Data warehousing concepts & dimensional modeling
• API‑based integrations or event‑driven architectures
• Exposure to DevOps/CI‑CD for ETL pipelines
