Accounts Payable Officer

We are currently looking for a dedicated Accounts Payable Officer to join our dynamic finance team.

As the ideal candidate, you'll bring a wealth of experience in Accounts Payable, creditor processing, and payment management, while also providing finance business partnering support to a small portfolio of cost centres. You'll be driven by continuous improvement, with excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Your strong organisational skills, high work ethic, and collaborative approach will ensure you thrive in this fast-paced role.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the Accounts Payable process for all entities, ensuring timely handling of purchase orders, invoices, and payments.
• Prepare and process payments, maintain audit logs, and upload payments into the bank.
• Oversee the workflow authorisation, working with managers to ensure payments are made on time and classified correctly.
• Be the main contact for supplier and manager inquiries.
• Manage direct debit accounts, ensuring deductions are approved with proper supporting documentation.
• Keep track of open purchase orders and ensure they're cleared regularly.
• Prepare and submit a monthly report on aged AP, highlighting issues and suggesting solutions.
• Actively manage creditor balances, aiming to keep overdue creditors under 2%.
• Provide finance business partnering support to assigned small cost centres, such as HR, Finance and IT.
• Prepare clear monthly cost centre reporting and variance analysis and meet with cost centre managers to explain financial performance.

What You’ll Bring

• Skilled with ERP software, including OCR scanning and capture technology.
• Extensive Accounts Payable experience with great attention to detail.
• Able to prioritise tasks, seek help when needed, and show personal maturity.
• Strong understanding of supply chain, purchasing, and PO processes.
• Knowledgeable about foreign currency exchange and payments.
• Proficient in Excel and Word, with the ability to prepare reconciliations, analyse data and produce clear financial reports.
• Able to prepare and interpret simple cost centre reporting, budgets, forecasts and variance analysis.
• Strong communicator who can translate financial information into practical, easy-to-understand insights for non-finance stakeholders.
• Strong interpersonal skills, able to work well with different teams.
