Backed by one of the world's largest banking groups, we combine a strong local presence with an extensive global network to help New Zealand businesses and individuals seize opportunities with confidence, both at home and around the world.
About the role
Join our Corporate Banking team and play an important role in supporting and growing relationships with New Zealand corporate clients with a focus on global and cross border business.
As an Assistant Relationship Manager, you will support senior Relationship Managers in client relationship management, credit applications, industry analysis and end-to-end customer processes, while developing your knowledge across corporate banking products and markets.
As a Relationship Manager, you will take a more active role in originating and executing business opportunities, developing client relationships, structuring financial solutions and supporting the growth and management of the Bank’s global and cross border corporate portfolio.
Both roles offer the opportunity to work closely with experienced banking professionals and collaborate across Credit, Product and operational teams to deliver tailored solutions and high-quality service to clients.
Key responsibilities
Support the development and management of corporate banking client relationships and respond proactively to customer needs.
Prepare and analyse credit applications, annual reviews, customer ratings and related credit documentation.
Conduct industry, market and financial analysis to identify opportunities and support informed business decisions.
Drive and undertake hands-on work as needed to ensure timely and effective execution of end-to-end customer processes, including KYC/AML, OCDD, loan documentation, drawdowns and post-drawdown management.
Work closely with Credit, Product, Operations and other internal stakeholders to develop financial solutions tailored to customer needs.
Maintain portfolio credit quality through monitoring of covenants, excesses, overdue and expired facilities, and watchlist/management requirements.
Act as a key contact for clients on day-to-day banking matters and ensure timely and effective delivery of products and services.
Prepare market research, portfolio analysis and management reporting as required.
Contribute to a collaborative, customer-focused and high-performing team.
For the Relationship Manager level, support business origination, customer onboarding, transaction structuring and execution, and post loan management, and contribute to achieving agreed business and P&L outcomes.
About you
