Basketball Coach
Job Description
It’s fun to work at the Y!
We are looking for a Basketball Coach to join our team at Sir William Jordan Recreation Centre. This is a part-time position offering a minimum of 4 hours per week, with shifts scheduled on Tuesday from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm, Wednesday from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, and Thursday from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm. If you are only available to work one or two of these shifts, please indicate this in your cover letter.
What will you be doing?
Instruct all courses, classes and competitions in a professional manner to ensure a quality learning experience for all participants
Deliver on lesson plans for every level taught
Ensure lessons are taught in accordance with relevant YMCA and industry standards and recommendations
Create and foster a positive environment for clients
Ensure the correct use of equipment at all times
Ensure all activities are delivered on time
• Set up and pack down equipment for all activities in a timely manner
What experience/skills do you need?
Previous Coaching experience and good teaching ability
Programme planning and presentation ability
Technical skill development experience

Return a satisfactory Police Vet before commencement of employment.
