Basketball Referee
Job Description
It’s fun to work at the Y!
We are looking for a Basketball Referee to join our team at Sir William Jordan Recreation Centre. This is a fantastic part-time opportunity, offering a minimum of 4 hours per week on Thursdays from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm, with the potential for an additional hour on Tuesdays, depending on operational requirements.
What will you be doing?
Officiate our Basketball competitions
Maintain standards of play and to ensure that game rules and regulations are observed
Teach and explain the rules, regulations, and etiquette governing Junior and Senior Basketball leagues
Support in managing stadium logistics to ensure games run on time
What experience/skills do you need?
Sound knowledge of BBNZ Basketball Rules and Regulations
Experience in Refereeing live games
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Current First Aid Certificate (desirable)
