About the role | He kōrero mō te tūranga
As a Business Support Lead, you will play a key role in ensuring our Regional Service Managers and Service Managers receive exceptional operational and administrative support. Acting as the central coordination point for a wide range of business support activities, you will help drive consistency, efficiency and quality across our services.
You will work closely with managers, and Business Support Coordinators, and shared services teams to coordinate workflows, manage priorities, support people, processes, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. This role involves managing highly confidential people, operational and organisational information, requiring sound judgement, discretion and a high level of trust. Taking a proactive and solution-focused approach, you will anticipate challenges, identify practical solutions and ensure key actions, deadlines and priorities stay on track.
This is a varied and rewarding role where your contribution will help our leaders focus on supporting people, delivering high-quality services and achieving positive outcomes for the communities we serve.
This is a permanent, full-time role based in Palmerston North.

Lead and coordinate day-to-day business support activities
Proactively manage complex diaries, scheduling, and competing priorities
Support managers
Handle sensitive and confidential information
Maintain and improve reporting tools, trackers, templates, and administrative systems
What you will bring | Ngā tohungatanga
Essential:
Significant experience in senior administration, executive support, operational support or a similar business support role
Experience supporting managers or senior leaders with complex and competing priorities
Excellent attention to detail,, strong diary, scheduling, workflow and organisational skills
The ability to work autonomously, anticipate issues and proactively find solutions
Sound judgement and confidence handling confidential and sensitive information
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Collaborative and relationship driven
Strong Microsoft Office Skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams and SharePoint)
Ability to develop and maintain reporting templates, trackers and programme documentation
Minimum 3–5 years’ experience supporting complex programmes, projects, PMO functions, transformation activity or organisational change
Understanding of RAID management (Risk, Assumptions, Issues and Dependencies)
Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and their application in service delivery environments
Desired:
Understanding of health, disability or social services sectors
