Café and Bar Manager, Coco Lane, Auckland CBD

Coco Lane is Auckland's matcha and cookie destination, with cafés at 39 Elliott Street and 35 High Street, Auckland CBD. We are looking for a Café and Bar Manager to manage both locations.

Location: 39 Elliott Street and 35 High Street, Auckland CBD (the role works regularly across both)

Type: Full time, permanent

Hours: minimum 40 guaranteed hours a week, rostered across 7-day trading

Pay: $25 to $35 per hour, depending on experience

Key tasks

• Manage and coordinate the day-to-day operations and trading activities of both café locations, ensuring efficient service and consistent operational standards.
• Recruit, train, roster, supervise and manage staff, including monitoring performance and ensuring appropriate staffing levels across both locations.
• Plan and manage food and beverage menus, including product selection, recipes, pricing and costs, while monitoring quality and consistency.
• Manage purchasing and supplier relationships, including ordering stock, monitoring inventory levels, controlling wastage and ensuring purchasing remains within operational budgets.
• Monitor financial and operational performance, including cash reconciliation, till reporting, sales, labour costs, stock costs and other key performance indicators, and provide regular reports to the owner.
• Ensure both premises comply with applicable food safety, hygiene, health and safety requirements and maintain appropriate operational and compliance records.
• Monitor customer service standards, assess customer satisfaction, respond to complaints and implement improvements where required.
• Plan and coordinate promotions, functions, catering requirements and other special events, where applicable.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of hospitality experience, including supervising staff
• Strong barista and bar skills
• * Knowledge of food-safety practice
