About the role

Cosy Homes builds high quality, transportable, affordable homes. We are a Kaiapoi based family run business, which started with the goal to rethink the construction of a home from the ground up. Through years of research and testing, we have questioned every aspect of home construction and created a home that is quick to build and affordable, while also being robust, comfortable and incredibly well insulated. We are looking for an experienced carpenter/builder to join our small friendly team. This is a full time (40 hrs/week) permanent position working Monday to Friday at one location in Kaiapoi. Your role will mainly be focused on internal fit outs so will not be subjected to rain days nor require much heavy lifting.

Key responsibilities

Assemble flat pack joinery units (kitchens, wardrobes etc.)

Install basic joinery

Install pre-hung doors

Install skirting and architraves

Install window joinery

Build timber decks and steps

Basic yard duties

Read and understand fabrication drawings/plans

Cut, erect and install panels as per plans

Install aluminium and uPVC windows when required

About you

Good work ethic

Reliable and friendly

Physically fit

Minimum 3 years experience

Valid NZ work visa

Experience working with structural insulated panels, or an interest in being trained in this area, will be highly regarded
