Casual Chicken Farm Worker

Agright is a growing agribusiness that specialises in broiler chicken farming. The team have extensive experience in the meat chicken industry and are looking to grow the business and bring staff and stakeholders on the journey.

We are seeking a Casual farm hand for our farm near Rakaia Canterbury to work with the farm team to provide weekend and leave coverage on a casual basis

Role Description:

To work alongside the farm team to assist on all aspects of the farming operation during rostered hours.

The role is expected to be able to work 4 - 6 hrs each Saturday and Sunday and be available to cover annual leave on an ad hoc basis, or any other time during the week as necessary.

The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate the following:

Experience in working on fully environmentally controlled broiler chicken farms preferred but not essential;

A willing ability to learn a new skill in a new environment;

Farm machinery (tractor) operating experience;

Workplace Health and Safety management and creating a culture of “safety first” work practices;

This role will suit anyone with experience or a passion for agriculture and someone who is enthusiastic and willing to learn on the job.

Applicants for this position must be a NZ resident, NZ citizen, or hold a valid NZ work visa and must have a driver’s licence.
