About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Cleaner & Laundry Assistant to join our team on a casual basis. This role plays a vital part in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation throughout our facility, directly contributing to the comfort and well-being of our residents.
You will be responsible for a combination of cleaning duties and supporting laundry operations, ensuring all areas are maintained to a high standard in line with infection control and health & safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Perform daily cleaning tasks across resident rooms, common areas, and facilities
Ensure all cleaning is completed in line with infection control standards
Collect, sort, wash, dry, and fold laundry (including residents' personal items and linen)
Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of laundry areas and equipment
Handle cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and appropriately
Report any maintenance, safety, or hygiene concerns
Work collaboratively with the wider team to support a positive environment
About You
Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards
Understanding of hygiene and infection control practices
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
Good communication skills, including basic functional English
A friendly, respectful approach and genuine interest in aged care
Physically able to perform manual tasks, including lifting, standing, and repetitive work
Willingness to work shifts, including weekends
Legal rights to live and work in New Zealand permanently (no visa sponsorship available).
