To support the coding department, the full-time Certified Medical Coder will review, abstract, and assign medical codes in compliance with regulations, while working remotely and managing high volumes of coding tasks independently.

##### Key responsibilities

Accurately assign ICD-10 and CPT codes, ensuring compliance with coding, billing, and data collection regulations

Provide guidance to healthcare staff on current coding practices and regulatory changes

Review and analyze provider documentation to obtain necessary information for accurate coding

##### Required qualifications

High School diploma or GED

Successful completion of the UNC HCS SS Rev Cycle Physician Coder Proficiency Test

Successful completion of the UNCH Coder Proficiency Test

Two years of physician medical coding experience

Certification from AAPC or AHIMA
