Pastry Chef de Partie– Full-time position at the exclusive Rawhiti Estate, Remuera, Auckland

Are you an innovative Chef, who is full of enthusiasm and great ideas?

We are looking for an outstanding Chef who wants to work the pleasant hours that are afforded by a high end residential aged care and independent living facility, but who isn’t ready to give up their culinary imagination or enthusiasm.

At Rawhiti Estate, we provide the best of the best to our residents – whether they be living in our Assisted Living Suites or living independently and dining in our exclusive restaurant.

Reporting to the Executive Chef, this role requires flexibility, initiative and some new ideas!  Experience in a retirement village is welcomed, but not essential.  You need to have:

A minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role

Well established, safe and tidy food preparation skills

Certificates in Hospitality Level 4 to prove the above

Having a portfolio of work samples is a plus

Ability to train and develop staff

The ability to work weekends on a regular roster, but be flexible when we have big events going on

The willingness and capability to stand in for our Executive Chef when they are away from the site, and support them when they are here

Project a professional image at all times through personal presentation / interpersonal skills.

A culinary imagination that allows for our residents’ taste, but keeps them on their toes

A strong teamwork attitude – do what needs to be done regardless of your position

* Current valid Work Visa or NZ residency
