Truck Driver – Class 5 | North Canterbury
We’re on the hunt for a Class 5 Driver to join our North Canterbury maintenance team.
We’re looking for someone with a great attitude, a strong work ethic and who’s happy to get stuck in. This isn’t just a driving role. You’ll be part of the wider maintenance crew, helping keep the local road network safe and in good condition.

This is a permanent, full-time role, with a guaranteed 40 hours per week, generally working Monday to Friday, with some nights and Saturday work from time to time.

What you’ll be doing
Driving and operating Class 5 truck and trailer combinations
Supporting road maintenance activities across the North Canterbury network
Working alongside the wider maintenance crew to get the job done
Pitching in with labouring and other site duties when required
Taking a proactive approach to keeping yourself and your workmates safe
Looking after your vehicle and equipment
What we’re looking for
A current Class 5 licence, or overseas equivalent
Previous truck driving and operating experience
Ideally, experience in road maintenance, civil construction or a similar environment
A reasonable level of physical fitness
A reliable, practical attitude and willingness to pitch in where needed
A strong commitment to working safely
