About the role

As our product range continues to grow, WGD is looking for an experienced CNC Machinist to join our evening shift team.

At WGD, you’ll manufacture high-performance drivetrain components for some of the world’s fastest cars, including clutch baskets, gears, and transmission components used in demanding automotive applications worldwide.

We are looking for machinists experienced in setting and operating CNC lathes, mills, and mill/turn machines. Our workshop includes Mazak, DMG, Takisawa, Victor, and Hartford machines.

Programming experience with GibbsCAM, Mazatrol, or DMG controls is a bonus, but not essential.

Key responsibilities

• Setting and operating CNC machines

• Programming and optimising jobs from CAD models and engineering drawings

• Producing precision parts to tight tolerances

• Managing jobs from setup through to production

• Troubleshooting machining and tooling issues

• Working closely with engineers and the wider machining team

• Maintaining strong quality and health & safety standards

What we’re looking for

• CNC machining experience (2-3 years)

• Milling experience preferred, but all machining backgrounds considered

• Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship

• Ability to work independently and within a team

• Positive attitude and willingness to learn

What we offer

• $30 - $50 per hour depending on experience

• Full-time, permanent position - evening shift role

• 40 hours per week.

• Overtime available and paid above base rate at x1.25
