CNC Turner/ Lathe Machinist
Job Description
About the role
We're looking for a qualified Turner/Machinist to join our lathe section. You'll be setting up and running CNC lathes, producing quality components to drawing, and working with the wider team to keep jobs flowing through the shop.
Key responsibilities
Setting up and operating CNC lathes, including C- and Y-axis machines
Reading engineering drawings and checking your own work
Bar feeder work and batch production
Keeping your machine and area tidy and well maintained
About you
A trade qualification as a Turner, Machinist or Fitter-Machinist (or equivalent experience)
Solid CNC lathe experience
Good measuring and inspection skills
A reliable, can-do attitude with a willingness to learn
Mazak experience, especially Mazatrol (T series / 640T / Matrix / Smooth)
Experience with live tooling
C-axis or Y-axis work
CAM experience (GibbsCAM a bonus)

Langslow Engineering is a small, busy precision engineering workshop running 11 Mazak CNC machines, including C- and Y-axis lathes, an Integrex mill-turn, and vertical machining centres with pallet systems. We're a close team that values skill, reliability and pride in the work, and we invest in cross-training so our people keep growing.
