Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role
We are looking for a Community and Volunteer Coordinator to help build strong volunteer networks and support inclusive community and sport and leisure opportunities for blind, deafblind and low vision people.
In this part time role (22.5hrs per week), you will coordinate the recruitment, selection, training and ongoing support of volunteers, ensuring they are well connected, appropriately prepared and supported to have a positive volunteer experience. You will also work alongside local support groups, activity groups, community committees and internal teams to ensure clients have access to timely information, practical support and meaningful opportunities to participate in their communities.

You are confident building relationships with volunteers, clients, community groups and service providers. You can:
Coordinate people, information and activities in a clear, organised, accurate and practical way
Lead activities with a person-centred focus, supporting inclusive communities and social groups
Communicate well and follow through on commitments
Work collaboratively while using initiative and tenacity to get things done
This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference by connecting people, strengthening volunteer support and helping clients participate in sport, leisure and community life in ways that are important to them. You will have:
Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
Practical experience in managing and coordinating groups of people
Experience in recruiting and training volunteers
Ability to build and maintain key stakeholder relationships
Excellent planning and organising skills, including time-management skills
