About the role
A kitchen assistant/cook is required for a busy cafe in Lake Tekapo. The role involves assisting the head chef in preparing approximately 500 meals per day.
Key responsibilities
Wash, chop, measure, and prepare ingredients
Pre-cook items for chefs and other kitchen staff
Maintain kitchen cleanliness and organisation
Follow prep lists
Ensure food safety
Label and stock ingredients
Manage inventory
Perform basic cooking tasks such as making sauces or salads
About you
At least 2 years of experience
Strong knife skills
Attention to detail
Ability to work under pressure
