Deputy Ward Manager
Job Description
The Deputy Ward Manager is responsible for supporting the Ward Manager in the operational, professional, and clinical leadership of the Gynaecology Ward, Early Pregnancy Unit (EPU), Gynaecology Assessment Unit (GAU), and Day Case Unit. The post holder will provide visible leadership, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, high-quality, and patient-centred care whilst promoting a culture of continuous improvement and excellence. The Deputy Ward Manager will act as an expert clinical practitioner, role model, mentor, and leader, supporting staff in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. They will deputise for the Ward Manager in their absence, ensuring effective management of staffing, patient flow, quality, governance, and resources across the service. The post holder will contribute to service development, workforce management, and clinical governance activities, ensuring that Trust objectives, policies, procedures, and professional standards are maintained and embedded within daily practice.
