Role Overview
As a Domiciliary Care Worker with GYC, you’ll be part of a dedicated and supportive team delivering personal and practical care to individuals in their own homes. This is a highly rewarding role for those who want to make a real difference in their local community, supporting clients with a wide range of care needs while promoting independence, dignity, and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality personal care in service users’ homes, including:
Washing and dressing
Catheter and stoma care
Toileting and continence support
Support mobility needs using approved techniques and equipment
Assist with meal preparation and serving food and drinks
Supervise and support medication routines, maintaining accurate records
Help maintain clean and safe living environments by:
Performing light household tasks (e.g. laundry, cleaning, tidying)
Supporting shopping or errands, if outlined in the care plan
Monitor and report changes in the service user’s condition to the Care Manager
Keep detailed records of care delivered, in line with company policy
Use the Electronic Call Monitoring system to log all home visits
Work in accordance with Social Care Wales’ Code of Conduct and GYC’s values
Follow all company policies and procedures, especially Health & Safety protocols
Participate in ongoing training and development (fully provided by GYC and partners)
Undertake any other reasonable duties as required in line with individual care plans
