Calling all good sorts and great sports: if you're keen to move into a role that'll get your career into great shape while doing something awesome for your community, we've got just the thing. Our Recreation, Sports and Events team are now hiring for two fixed-term Duty Officers to join our team.

Spencer Beach TOP 10 Holiday Park is a recreational destination stretching over 17 hectares, where guests can relax and unwind in a huge campground in the middle of a 70 hectare forested reserve, or take part in one of the many activities nearby. Situated just 20 minutes from the city and airport, we're also only 500m from the beach. Serving up great experiences and excellent services for our community, our people are nothing short of awe-inspiring in the level of service and assistance they provide for the people of Christchurch and beyond.

About the role | Ko te mahi nei

Duty Officers are an essential part of our team, in your role you will help us provide a high level of customer service to all our guests nationally and internationally, and work closely with an amazing team to ensure our guest's have a position and memorable experience with us.

Day-to-day duties include

  • Checking guests in and out
  • Managing phone and email bookings and enquiries
  • Assisting with customer requests and handling concerns or complaints
  • Handling cash and processing payments
  • Stocking and serving customers in the camp shop
  • Laundry and supporting housekeeping as needed
  • * Completing end-of-day closing duties
  • Please note you will be required to work public holidays, and the main holiday period (Christmas to Feb approx.), as this is our busiest period.

To be successful in this role, you'll

Be friendly and helpful attitude, with the ability to adapt to different languages and cultures.

Work well under pressure and show initiative.

Have knowledge of the Canterbury region and attractions.

Excellent computer skills.

Well organised with a strong sense of responsibility.

Exceptional problem solving and communication skills.

Ability to work un-supervised.

Previous experience in the tourism industry is desirable.

A full New Zealand Driver's Licence is desirable.

Hours of work:

Position 1 – Friday and Saturday 1.30pm – 8pm: 12 hours per week

Position 2 – Sunday and Monday 1.30pm – 8pm: 12 hours per week

Position: Part time, fixed term

Salary: $30.98 per hour.
