Job Description
- We’re recruiting for an Electronics Engineer / Senior Electronics Engineer to join an established engineering business developing specialist electronic instrumentation for global markets.
- This is a hands-on R&D position where you’ll take ownership of electronics development from initial requirements and concept through PCB design, prototyping, validation, approvals and manufacture.
- Depending on experience, there is also scope to lead electronics workstreams and help influence future products and technology.
- The Role
- Analogue and digital electronic design
- Schematic capture and PCB design/layout
- Prototype development, testing and debugging
- Product approvals, design validation and EMC compliance
- DFM, DFT, FMEA and design-for-cost activities
- Low-level firmware development and modification
- Supporting products throughout the full development lifecycle
- Working closely with firmware, software, mechanical and other engineering teams
- Researching new technologies for future product development
- Taking ownership of technical workstreams and engineering decisions
- At Senior level, you may also mentor other engineers and contribute to the future technology roadmap.
- What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of commercial electronics development experience
- Strong schematic and PCB design experience
- Analogue and digital electronics knowledge
- Experience developing electronic products through to manufacture
- Experience with testing, validation and troubleshooting
- Exposure to EMC, product approvals or regulatory compliance
- Ability to manage your own workload and take ownership of projects
- Strong communication and collaborative working skills
- Experience with embedded C would be beneficial, although you do not need to be a dedicated Firmware Engineer.
