Experienced Machine Operator / Civil Construction All-Rounder

About the role
We're looking for an experienced Machine Operator / Civil Construction All-Rounder to join our team working on a range of civil construction projects across Northland.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is confident operating machinery but can also turn their hand to a variety of civil construction tasks. You'll work as part of a team and be involved in everything from earthworks and trenching through to boxing, retaining, concrete preparation and service installation.
Digger/excavator operation remains an important part of the role, but we're looking for someone with a broader range of civil construction skills who is happy to get stuck in and assist wherever needed.
Key responsibilities
Operate diggers/excavators and other machinery safely and efficiently
Carry out general civil construction and earthworks
Trenching and service installation
Boxing and concrete preparation
Retaining and site preparation
Assist with drainage and foundation works
Work from site plans and specifications
Assist other crew members with general construction tasks as required
Maintain machinery, tools and equipment to a high standard
Follow all health and safety requirements and maintain a high standard of workmanship
About you
Proven experience operating diggers/excavators in civil construction
Broad civil construction experience and a willingness to get involved in all aspects of the job
Experience with trenching, boxing, retaining, concrete preparation and/or service installation
WTR licence endorsements are preferred
Able to read and work from plans and specifications
Good understanding of site safety and quality workmanship
Reliable, practical and able to work well as part of a team
A good attitude and willingness to get stuck in are essential
