Farmworkers, Farm, Ranch, and Aquacultural Animals - Livestock
Job Description
Performs any of the following tasks to attend to livestock: Maintain heated watering system. Operate snow removal equipment in order to operate feed wagons. Mix feed and additives, fill feed troughs with feed and water for livestock; remove ice formed in water. Examine animals to detect diseases and injuries. Vaccinate animals by placing vaccine in drinking water or feed using syringes and hypodermic needles. Apply medications to cuts and bruises, spray livestock with insecticide. Confine livestock in stalls. Wash and clip livestock to prepare them for calving. Assist veterinarian in delivery of offspring. Bind or clamp testes or surgically removes testes to castrate livestock. Clip identifying notches or symbols on animal or brand animal using branding iron to indicate ownership. Clean livestock stalls and sheds, using disinfectant solutions, brushes and shovels. Maintain buildings. Maintain breeding, feeding and costs records. Drive to town to pick up cattle supplies. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Minimum one (1) month’s experience. Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Basic literacy and arithmetic requirement. No minimum education required. No CDL Required and no commercial truck driving required.

The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Extensive pushing and pulling is required. Extensive sitting is required. Repetitive movements is required. Workers must have positive verifiable experience relevant to the job and be capable of performing physically demanding tasks. Workers must be able to speak English. Employees must adhere to strict biosecurity, company policies, and food safety guidelines, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Certain roles may require a valid drivers license within 30 days of hire and a clean driving record for operating company vehicles. Exceptional performance may be rewarded with additional compensation or benefits at the employers discretion.
