Job Description

Feed and water livestock and monitor food and water supplies. Maintain heated watering system. Operate snow removal equipment in order to operate feed wagons. Mix feed and additives. Fill feed troughs with feed and water for livestock. Remove ice formed in water. Examine animals to detect diseases and injuries. Vaccinate animals by placing vaccine in drinking water or feed or using syringes and hypodermic needles. Apply medications to cuts and bruises. Spray livestock with insecticide. Confine livestock in stalls, wash and clip them to prepare them for calving. Assist veterinarian in delivery of offspring. Bind or clamp testes or surgically remove testes to castrate livestock. Clip identifying notches or symbols on animal. Clean livestock stalls and sheds using disinfectant solutions, brushes and shovels. Maintain breeding, feeding, and cost records. Maintain workshop and general maintenance of buildings. Use lawn mower, weed cutter, small equipment, and hand tools.

Requirements: 1 months of experience. Minimum of 1 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Lift and carry items weighing up to 60 pounds. Workers must have positive verifiable experience relevant to the job and be capable of performing physically demanding tasks. Workers must be able to speak English. Employees must adhere to strict biosecurity, company policies, and food safety guidelines, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Certain roles may require a valid drivers license within 30 days of hire and a clean driving record for operating company vehicles. Exceptional performance may be rewarded with additional compensation or benefits at the employers discretion. Workers must be responsible, follow instructions, and comply with attendance, punctuality, and work schedules, as repeated absenteeism, failure to meet job expectations, misconduct, insubordination, or violations of safety protocols may result in termination.
