Furnace / Metal Casting Trade Worker

We are seeking qualified and/or suitably experienced staff for plant in Onehunga, South Auckland. Candidates must be capable of operating induction furnaces and be fully conversant with the casting process.   Great team environment and working conditions. Pay rate $30.00 to $35.00 per hour depending on qualifications and experience.

We have three positions available;

Morning shift - 6.00am to 2.30pm Afternoon shift - 10am to 6.30pm

All positions are Monday to Friday, these are permanent positions.

Key Responsibilities;

Selecting materials for furnace charges

Preparing crucible, ladle and launder for melting operations

Loading furnace safely

Preparing casting moulds for pouring

Complete operation of induction furnaces

Pouring of molten metal

Cleaning and trimming moulded products

Maintenance and repair of moulds and furnace equipment

Requirements;

Must be qualified or have at least two years experience.

Must be legally entitled to work in New  Zealand, and currently residing here.

Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol test on employment, and at regular intervals once employed.

Must be able to pass an MoJ check to our satisfaction.

Must be able to lift heavy weights, and work in an hot environment.

Must be willing to take a medical prior to employment.
