We're looking for the next generation of Graduate Pharmacists (interns) who are ready to launch their careers in a fast-paced, progressive, and supportive community pharmacy environment. This is your chance to gain hands-on experience, grow your confidence, and make your mark with one of New Zealand's most dynamic pharmacy groups.

As a graduate pharmacist with Bargain Chemist, you'll be supported every step of the way with a comprehensive intern training programme, ongoing guidance from your preceptor and the PSNZ ITP, and tailored support to help you transition from university into professional practice.

Our pharmacies operate 7 days a week, generally from 8am - 8pm including public holidays, so flexibility is important. Intern hours will align with your preceptor's roster. We're looking for graduate pharmacist who are passionate about pharmacy, customer care, and making a positive impact. You'll thrive if you're accurate, personable, solution-focused, calm under pressure, and bring strong communication skills to every interaction.

What We're Looking For

Bachelor of Pharmacy

A natural people person with the ability to connect, engage, and build lasting relationships with staff, customers, and the community.

Ability to work well under pressure.

Thrives in a fast-paced environment while maintaining exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.

What You'll Bring to Life in this Role

Supporting dispensary operations and compliance with pharmacy standards.

Working closely with pharmacists to ensure safe and accurate medication supply.

Stock control, unpacking orders and assisting with blister packing as needed.

Practice pharmacy with a patient centered care focus

Dispense and checking medicines

Participating in dispensary service provisions

Extemporaneous compounding

Provision of primary healthcare

Provision of pharmacist only sales

Providing medicine information to other healthcare professionals (HCP)

Provide medication education to patients and their whānau

Ensure patients receive safe and effective treatment in a timely manner
