Graduate/Junior Automation Engineer

Job description

Our Hamilton branch is looking to hire a graduate or junior (1-3 years) automation engineer to join our control systems team in Hamilton on a full-time basis. The position will require you to work with our wider team on projects and site support. The role may include:

Assisting in the preparation of functional descriptions and other documentation

Assist in the preparation of control systems software (PLC & SCADA)

Assist in the installation and commissioning of control systems at customers’ sites

Help foster relationships with our customers

Assisting with other office tasks

We work on projects and site support in a range of industries including but not limited too:

Food & Beverage

Power Generation

Municipal Water Services

This job will require travelling for site visits, design meetings/discussions and system installation and commissioning. Our customers are primarily located within the Waikato and Central North Island regions.

Requirements

We are looking for a graduate in the field of Electrical, Electronic, Software or Mechatronics Engineering. To be a successful candidate you will need:

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills

A tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or equivalent

To work well within a team and the initiative to work on their own

Ability to develop customer relationships

* A willingness to travel for project commissioning
