### **The Opportunity**

The role is an opportunity to take real ownership of crop outcomes in a high-volume, quality-driven nursery environment. As the Grower for Container Yard and Shrub Nursery, you are responsible for transplanting crops plan into consistent, market ready products, making informed decisions that directly impact plant quality, readiness, and customer confidence.

### **Responsibilities**

• Own a plant quality and crop health for all assigned Container Yard and Shrub Nursery crops from propagating through shipping
• Execute climate, irrigation, fertility, and IPM programs to meet defined quality, yield, and readiness targets
• Maintain pest and disease pressure below thresholds using IPM-first, compliant practices (including CFIA requirements)
• Ensure accurate pH/EC monitoring, recordkeeping, and timely corrective actions based on crop plans
• Execute crop plans aligned with product specifications, spacing standards, and committed ready dates
• Forecast, order, and manage growing inputs to ensure uninterpreted production
• Direct, develop, and deploy assistant growers and irrigation staff to meet crop and quality objectives
• Maintain accurate plant availability and readiness data; proactively communicate with Sales and Planning
• Inspect outgoing product to ensure plants meet DeVry's quality standards before shipment
• Collaborative with Growers, Team Leads, and cross-functional partners to drive continuous improvement and support broader operational needs

### **Qualifications**

• Demonstrated experience growing nursery or containerized crops at a commercial scale
• Strong working knowledge of climate control, fertigation, and IPM practices
• Proven ability to plan, prioritize, and lead execution in a fast-paced environment
• Strong sense of ownership, quality focus, and follow-through

• Compensation range: **$26-$30 paid hourly**, based on experience and expertise
