Health Care Assistant

Ealga Lodge Nursing Home are currently seeking Healthcare Assistants (HCA) who would be available to join the team.

The primary role of the Care Assistant is to assist the nursing staff in the implementation of care. Assigned and delegated tasks involving both direct and indirect care include the Resident's personal care, hygiene, nutrition, mobility, health and safety, infection control and communication.

Accountable To: Director of Nursing

Reports To: Nurse in Charge

Function

Healthcare Assistants are required to promote a caring environment for residents through high standards of professional practice which are conductive to the physical, emotional, social, intellectual and spiritual needs of the Residents of the Home.

Main Activities

Supporting the Nursing Staff and team in delivering quality person-centred care to meet the needs of residents

Enabling and assisting residents to maintain their personal appearance/hygiene needs whilst always maintaining their dignity

Enabling and assisting residents to eat/drink and achieve physical comfort

Maintain accurate and thorough care records

Desirable:

* One year’s experience working as a Healthcare Assistant in a Nursing Home or similar environment
