About the Role

We’re on the lookout for a passionate, people‑focused HSSQ Advisor to join our awesome team in Southern Lakes!

We’re looking for someone who’s excited to make a real impact, strengthen our positive HSSQ culture, and lead initiatives that make our sites safer and our teams even stronger.

This role is perfect for someone who loves variety, enjoys collaborating with a wide range of people, and wants to be part of a supportive, forward‑thinking team. You’ll have the opportunity to grow your leadership capability, influence meaningful change, and help shape the future of Health, Safety, Sustainability and Quality at Cook Brothers.

As an HSSQ Advisor, you’ll be the connector across our Southern Lakes projects, providing guidance, coaching, and direction while being an integral part of our National HSSQ team. You’ll lead the rollout of initiatives, champion continuous improvement, and build strong relationships across the business. We’re looking for someone who brings energy, initiative, and a passion for people and doing things better every day.

If you’re excited about making a real difference, strengthening our positive HSSQ culture, and driving initiatives that lift performance and engagement, we’d love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the rollout of HSSQ initiatives across the business, ensuring they land effectively and meaningfully at a regional level.

Build strong, influential relationships with site teams, project managers, and support staff, acting as a trusted advisor and coach.

Promote and embed a strong HSSQ culture where people feel empowered to speak up, take ownership, and lead by example.

Lead audits, site observations, and assurance activities while supporting teams with practical tools and resources.

Communicate key messages and success stories to keep HSSQ visible, engaging, and part of everyday site life.

Drive continuous improvement by contributing ideas, identifying opportunities, and supporting innovation across all areas of HSSQ.

Support and lead training, events, and capability‑building initiatives that make HSSQ accessible, practical, and engaging.

Be a proactive voice for positive change, bringing fresh thinking, a solutions‑focused mindset, and a passion for people.

Skills and Experience

5+ years experience in Health & Safety leadership, within the construction industry.

Strong, positive relationship‑building and customer service skills.

Adaptability in responding to different ideas, situations, and people.

Solid understanding of HSSQ requirements and legislation within the workplace.

Clear and effective communication skills with the ability to influence and engage.

Strong computer skills including Word and Excel.

Excellent time management and organisational capability.

Current driver’s licence.

Relevant tertiary qualification is highly desired.

Benefits

Flexible working options that support how you work best and help you balance life and leadership.

Health insurance to support your wellbeing.

Career and personal development that’s genuinely encouraged, supported, and tailored to your growth as a senior HSSQ professional.

A positive work/life balance backed by a team and culture that understands the importance of both.

An inclusive, supportive team environment where your voice, ideas, and leadership make a real difference.

Exposure to exciting, diverse projects across the Southern Lakes region, giving you the chance to influence meaningful outcomes.

A competitive salary package, plus a laptop and phone to keep you connected and supported.

* Complimentary access to EAP Services for additional wellbeing support whenever you need it

You’ll be working on meaningful, high‑profile projects in one of the most stunning parts of the country, surrounded by people who want you to succeed and who take pride in delivering exceptional work.
