Healthcare Assistant

Assist in and perform routine tasks

• related to patient care as directed by GPs and nursing staff,
• within the boundaries of clinical protocols
• Maintain Infection Prevention and
• Control standards including cleaning of equipment and clinical areas
• Maintain stock in GP rooms, rotating
• stock as required to avoid waste

Prepare and maintain environment and

equipment before during and after patient care such as during the performance

of minor operations

Vaccine/cold chain storage including

fridge temperature monitoring recording and download of data for audit purposes

Phlebotomy

• Chaperone patients and clinicians as
• required
• Raise awareness of health and well-being
• Assist in the assessment and
• surveillance of patient health and wellbeing including those with long term
• conditions
• Processing of urine samples
• ECG monitoring
• Vaccinations such as influenza,
• shingles, pneumonia and vitamin B12 for eligible patients under PSD

Safe disposal of clinical waste in

accordance with infection prevention and control

Maintain accurate records

Assist in audit, CQC compliance, QOF etc
