Healthcare Assistant

Responsibilities and Duties

• Supporting the nursing staff in providing high-quality holistic care to our residents.
• Ensuring resident's personal care requirements are maintained to the highest standards while maintaining the resident’s dignity at all times.
• Assisting residents with eating and drinking in line with their nutritional requirements.
• Assisting residents with mobilising as appropriate.
• Escorting or/and transferring residents as directed by the Nursing staff.
• Assisting in End-of-Life Care.
• Any other duties deemed necessary by nurse and management.

Qualifications and Skills

• QQI/FETAC qualification in Health Care Support or equivalent e.g a nursing degree.
• At least 2 years experience in a Healthcare role/environment.
• Preparedness to undertake training and obtain the necessary qualification within 12 months of commencement.
• Availability to work varied shift patterns, days & nights across Monday to Sunday is essential.
• Practical experience in a caring capacity desired.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Professional, caring, and empathetic nature.
• Be comfortable working in a sometimes, challenging environment.
• Applicant must have a good command of the English language.
