• Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital is recruiting a Healthcare Assistant to join our Pre-Operative Assessment Department on a permanent contract.
• You will join a warm, friendly and supportive team, working full time across Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 6:00pm.
• This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Healthcare Assistant looking to develop their skills within a busy and patient-focused clinical environment while supporting patients through their pre-operative journey.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assisting nurses with comprehensive pre-operative assessments.
• Carrying out routine tasks related to the delivery of care to ensure our patients' health and wellbeing.
• Updating patient records accurately and maintaining high standards of documentation.
• Ensuring medical questionnaires and associated documentation are completed.
• Booking appointments and coordinating further tests when required.
• Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to data protection procedures.
• Supporting patients who may feel anxious about upcoming surgery.
• Working closely with the multidisciplinary team to deliver an excellent patient experience.

Who We're Looking For

• Previous experience working within a clinical setting (hospital or GP surgery) is essential.
• As a Healthcare Assistant, you will play a fundamental role in providing healthcare support to our clinical team and ensuring patients receive the highest standards of personal care.
• Strong system literacy and confidence using electronic patient records.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
• Experience assisting nurses with comprehensive pre-operative assessments.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Basic clinical skills and knowledge of patient care.
• Understanding of confidentiality, safeguarding and data protection requirements.
