Job Description

We are looking for an experienced HGV Mechanic for our company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine servicing, maintenance and inspections on HGVs in line with manufacturer guidelines and RSA/DVSA standards.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
  • Prepare vehicles for CVRT testing and carry out pre-test inspections.
  • Complete preventative maintenance checks and ensure vehicles meet all legal and safety requirements.
  • Maintain accurate service records, job cards and inspection documentation.
  • Keep the workshop clean, safe and organised.
  • Complete all work efficiently, safely and to a high standard.
  • Liaise with drivers, transport managers and external suppliers regarding vehicle repairs, servicing and parts.

Requirements

2–3 years’ relevant experience working as an HGV Mechanic.

Proven experience working with heavy goods vehicles, ideally within a haulage, transport or commercial vehicle environment.

A recognised mechanic qualification or trade certificate is advantageous but not essential.
