About the opportunity
Egmont Honey is looking for reliable, practical people to join our Taihape team for a six-month fixed-term period.
These positions have been established to support a temporary increase in production and operational requirements. The roles involve a variety of hands-on factory, honey extraction, cleaning, equipment preparation and general operational duties. This is a full-time position for the duration of the fixed-term period. Hours and working days may vary depending on production requirements, so flexibility during busy periods is essential.
What you will be doing
Working under the direction of the Plant and Production Manager, your duties will include:
Assisting with honey extraction and processing
Preparing honey, equipment and work areas for production
Operating approved factory equipment after receiving appropriate training
Painting, assembling and preparing beehive boxes, frames and other equipment
Cleaning and sanitising factory areas, equipment, vehicles and beekeeping equipment
Water-blasting and completing general housekeeping duties
Mixing pollen substitute and preparing other approved materials
Moving raw materials, packaging, finished goods and equipment safely
Assisting with stock counts, rotation and storage
Reporting equipment faults, safety hazards, contamination risks and quality concerns
Supporting factory, warehouse and apiary teams as operational priorities change
This is a practical and physically active position. You must be comfortable standing for extended periods and safely completing manual handling, bending and repetitive tasks.

Able to follow instructions, procedures and safety requirements
Physically capable of completing the requirements of the role safely
Able to maintain attention to detail in a busy environment
Comfortable working around honey, beeswax, pollen products, cleaning chemicals and production machinery
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Previous experience in food production, manufacturing, packing, warehousing, farming or another practical environment would be helpful, but it is not essential. Full training will be provided.
