Ko tātou tēnei. He wāhi e whai take ai ā tātou mahi | This is us. Where making an impact matters.

Kiwibank exists to challenge the status quo and drive fairer banking for all Kiwi. Our Purpose, Kiwi making Kiwi better off, starts with our people, and drives everything we do.

The Sustainability, Purpose and Communications team is here to tell Aotearoa about the impact we’re making as the largest Kiwi owned bank in Aotearoa: how we’re bringing our purpose to life, how we’re supporting more Kiwi and Kiwi businesses to thrive, and what we’re doing to become a better bank. To communicate well with our people, customers and communities, we need a team that brings different perspectives, backgrounds and lived experiences to our work.

Ko tātou tēnei – Hei hāpai ake i a koe | This is us. Where you matter.

Our Internal Communications Managers partner with our business units, forming close relationships with leaders and influencers, and engaging people all over Kiwibank through stories that bring our strategy and purpose to life. Right now, we’re also in an exciting stage of our significant bank-wide transformation programme, and in this role, you’ll work closely with the team making the magic happen.

What you’ll be doing

Providing strategic advice and support to leaders and stakeholders on all aspects of internal communication

Creating and executing strategic communication plans that help build Kiwibank’s reputation and engagement with our people

Creating purposeful content that shows how our business units are delivering on our strategy and Purpose, engaging and motivating our people

Supporting the delivery of Kiwibank’s transformation through strategic storytelling

Working with project teams to make sure our communications are clear, connected to Kiwibank’s strategy and grounded in Ngā Kauwaka, the values and behaviours that shape how we work together

Ko tātou tēnei. Kia hāpai i ō pūkenga | This is us. Where your expertise matters.

We know people build their skills and experience in different ways. We’ll support you to build on your strengths and continue learning, and we’d like to hear from you if you bring some of the following:

A great reputation for providing strong, thoughtful strategic advice and being a trusted and effective communications advisor to senior leaders

Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills that mean you can work across the team and business with influence

A thoughtful and collaborative approach, with the ability to listen well, understand different perspectives, and bring people with you

Proven experience creating and executing strategic communications plans over time

Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills. You can spot a great story, have a keen eye for detail, and are creative in the way you deliver things

Confidence and experience using a range of channels and mediums to best effect, including email, intranet, video, social, virtual and face to face

The ability to manage several projects at the same time and identify what matters most

Curiosity and confidence using emerging tools, including AI, to enhance productivity and improve the quality and impact of your communications.

You don’t need to meet every requirement to apply. If the role interests you and you believe your experience could transfer, we’d love to hear from you.

Making Kiwi better off means understanding and reflecting the many communities that make up Aotearoa.
