MS degree in Business, Education, Management of Technology, or related field.

Professional experience and/or documented teaching activities must demonstrate a strong potential to enhance the department’s mission

Preferred

Experience with undergraduate or graduate level instruction

5+ years of relevant industry experience

This job posting is for lecturers in the Technological Leadership Institute (TLI). TLI occasionally needs lecturers to teach courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels.

Appointments are part-time and may be limited to one semester.

This is a standing posting to remain open throughout the 2026-2027 academic year. This does not constitute a posting for vacancies but establishes a pool of applicants should an opening occur.

Applicants will be selected from this pool on an as-needed basis throughout the

academic year and will be contacted if they are being considered for an open position.

Lecturers have full responsibility for

  • Preparing course materials including the syllabus and Canvas site
  • Preparing and presenting course lectures and content
  • Preparing homework assignments, quizzes, projects, and exams
  • Responding to student inquires
  • Assessing and grading student work
  • Submitting final grades
  • * Overall administration of the course.

The Technological Leadership Institute (TLI) is an interdisciplinary center at the University of Minnesota established in 1987 by an endowment from the Honeywell Foundation. The Institute is part of the College of Science and Engineering, which is ranked among the top engineering and science schools in the country. TLI is committed to lifelong learning, offering graduate degree programs, graduate certificates, undergraduate experiences, and continuing education opportunities that bridge the gap between business and technology.
