Manager (Cafe & Restaurant)

Permanent Full Time Role with 37.5 Hours per Week Guaranteed

Role Summary

We're looking for a confident and motivated Manager who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment and enjoy leading from the front.

The Manager supports the Cafe & Restaurant in leading front-of-house operations and delivering consistently high service standards. This role provides management coverage, leads shifts, coaches team members on the floor, and ensures operational procedures are followed during daily service.

This position is a hands-on leadership role, focused on execution, people support, and service excellence, while developing the skills and confidence required to progress into a senior management role.

Key responsibilities

Provide managerial coverage during assigned shifts

During assigned shifts, arrange purchasing and where required, provide feedback on menu item pricing

Execute and lead service shifts, ensuring service standards and procedures are upheld

Act as the primary point of contact for on-shift decision-making and issue resolution

Support smooth service flow and coordination between FOH and BOH

Select, train, coach and support team wait staff

Receive and discuss with customers to assess meal and beverage satisfaction and service standards

Role model positive behaviour, professionalism, and guest-focused service

Greet guests, take orders, and manage reservations or tour bookings where required

During assigned shifts, plan and organise special functions based on customer demand

Provide clear direction and feedback to support performance on shift

Complete and oversee operational checklists (open, service, close)

Ensure Logan's dining facilities comply with service standards, health & safety, and company procedures

Maintain accurate stock control, financial transactions, and correct handling of consumables and supplies

About you

Previous 3 years work experience in a managerial role within a cafe, restaurant or hotel setting.

Strong customer service and communication skills

Confidence leading teams in a fast-paced environment

Reliable, organised, and calm under pressure

Comply with all company policies, procedures, and legal obligations

Present professionally and role model hospitality values

Demonstrate commitment to health, safety, and wellbeing at work

Must be eligible to live and work in New Zealand
