Manager Distributed System

We are seeking an experienced OpenDDS Cloud Test Architect for an onsite contract to hire opportunity in Carrollton, TX. This resource needs hands-on expertise in OpenDDS-based cloud implementations. This role requires deep architectural insight, advanced performance analysis skills, and the ability to design and lead comprehensive cloud testing strategies. The ideal candidate will combine strong C/C++ development experience with cloud infrastructure knowledge, particularly within Azure environments.

Location: Carrollton Texas 75006 - onsite

6 - 12 month contract to hire

• Key Responsibilities: Analyze and diagnose complex system issues, including:
• Deadlocks and multi-threading bottlenecks
• Architectural inefficiencies
• Optimization of transactional and protocol-level data flow
• Conduct deep performance and memory analysis using advanced profiling tools (e.g., memory profilers, concurrency analyzers).
• Evaluate and optimize OpenDDS-based cloud deployments for scalability, performance, and reliability.
• Leverage Azure infrastructure expertise to assess and enhance distributed system performance.
• Define and direct comprehensive test strategies, including:
• Performance testing
• Load and stress testing
• Scalability validation
• Resilience and fault-tolerance testing
• Design and develop frameworks to simulate realistic transactional workloads for cloud-based systems.
• Provide technical leadership by guiding engineering teams on required test coverage, tooling, and quality benchmarks.
• Required Qualifications: Proven experience with OpenDDS in cloud-based implementations (https://opendds.org/).
• Strong proficiency in C/C++, particularly in multi-threaded and distributed environments.
• Demonstrated expertise in diagnosing deadlocks, race conditions, and performance bottlenecks.
• Hands-on experience with memory profiling and performance analysis tools.
• Solid understanding of distributed system architecture and protocol optimization.
• Experience working with Microsoft Azure infrastructure.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience building custom load/stress testing frameworks.
• Deep understanding of DDS protocols and data distribution performance tuning.
• Background in high-throughput, low-latency systems.
