- *Purpose of Role**:
To provide technical support and advise to the global organization to ensure the effective implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Company H&S management system and to provide assurance that material H&S risks are well controlled.
- *Key Responsibilities**:
- Model company values and set the tone for a positive safety culture.
- Support maintenance and improvement of the Company H&S (Safety & Sustainability) audit program including audit procedures, budgeting, planning, training, organization, scheduling, communications, coordination, contracting and continuous improvement.
- Participate in, or lead, the planning and development of Company H&S MS processes and support their global implementation and ongoing maintenance and improvement.
- Support maintenance of the corporate International Cyanide Code Certification program including interfacing with the Cyanide Institute, coordination of audits and pre-audits, tracking of certifications including those within the supply chain and coordination with the corporate supply chain function.
- Support management of the corporate Responsible Gold Mining Principles assurance program, including all aspects of the assurance program including selection of the assurance provider, scheduling and follow up.
- Provide technical support and advice regarding compliance with Company policies, legal requirements, and commitments.
- Support development and implementation of a strategy for communicating H&S MS and assurance activities to key stakeholders throughout the business.
- Maintain processes for H&S knowledge collection and sharing lessons learned.
- Facilitate H&S risk management workshops and reviews to ensure quality is high.
- Maintain Company H&S risk register and action tracking processes up to date and accurate.
- Facilitate risk management and audit training for staff and coach and mentor H&S team members on risk management and audit tools and techniques.
- Ensure all required H&S audit training and certification is in place and maintained.
- Provide input to development of contractual requirements and scopes of work for RM&A services and equipment.
- Oversee delivery of human and organisational performance (HOP) and operational learning teams training.
- Lead or participate in major incident investigations.
- Conduct regular analysis of H&S MS & Assurance data to identify trends and make recommendations for improvement.

- Creatively performs a range of highly complex H&S activities and leads on formulation, implementation, and evaluation of H&S strategy, often working with diverse cultures and changing business environments.
- *Business and organizational skills** - Understands the wider organizational and business environment and the impact on management of H&S as well as the interdependency of H&S and operations. Personal planning and organizational skills to meet work/project deadlines. Engages to support availability of required resources. May manage an H&S group.
