The Opportunity

DeVry Greenhouses is seeking a hands-on, proactive Mechanic to join our maintenance team. This role is key to keeping our fleet of vehicles and greenhouse equipment running effectively, ensuring seamless operations during both routine and peak seasons. Responsibilities

The successful candidate will

• Maintain and repair highway trucks, trailers, and reefers (brakes, hydraulics, lights & diesel systems)
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on greenhouse equipment (tractors, skid steers, forklift, ATVs, implements).
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues to minimize downtime.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain accurate service records.
• Support seasonal operations with proactive maintenance planning.

Qualifications

• Mechanical experience (fleet, heavy-duty, or agricultural equipment is an asset).
• Trade certification (e.g. Red Seal, Journeyman) preferred but not required - we will train the right candidate.
• A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to work extended hours during peak seasons.
• Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
