Job Description
Responsible for ensuring compliance with freight car construction and maintenance standards, the full-time Mechanical Field Inspector will conduct physical inspections, lead audits, and support regulatory compliance while working remotely.
##### Key responsibilities
Perform physical inspections of freight cars at various locations to assess condition and compliance with standards
Conduct joint lease return inspections and lead contract repair shop audits for regulatory compliance
Provide technical input and support for customer issue resolution related to mechanical findings
##### Required qualifications
High school diploma or GED required
5 or more years of freight car inspection and maintenance experience
Thorough knowledge of AAR Field and Office Manuals and related standards
Valid U.S. driver's license and passport required for travel
Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and ability to interpret industry rules and regulations
