Kōrure Whānau is the frontline integrated-services team of Te Whānau o Waipareira. We work alongside whānau across social, health, education and justice services, helping whānau pursue their self-determined aspirations and wellbeing. Our mahi is guided by Te Kauhau Ora o Waipareira, Whānau Ora and a commitment to mana-enhancing practice.
About the opportunity
Kōrure Whānau is seeking a culturally grounded practitioner to join Te Aka Taura. This role delivers kaupapa Māori wellbeing support for whānau, rangatahi and community participants.
You will use trusted engagement, kaupapa Māori frameworks and practical wellbeing approaches to help whānau strengthen resilience, connection and mana motuhake. The mahi may include facilitation, sensory modulation, whānau-centred wellness activities and connection to wider services.
What you will do
- Build trusted, mana-enhancing relationships with tāne, rangatahi and whānau
- Deliver kaupapa Māori wellbeing activities and culturally grounded support
- Facilitate individual or group sessions using appropriate approaches
- Support whānau aspirations, resilience and mana motuhake
- Recognise risk and connect whānau with further support where needed
- Work collaboratively with Kōrure Whānau and community services
- Maintain accurate, confidential and timely records
- Participate in cultural development, reflection and service improvement
- What you will bring
- At least three years of relevant whānau advocacy, facilitation or support experience
- Strong understanding and practical application of tikanga Māori and kaupapa Māori frameworks
- Ability to engage tāne, rangatahi and whānau in a trusted and respectful way
- Relevant lived experience and community credibility
- Strong communication, facilitation and professional-boundary skills
- Relevant health, social science, humanities or community qualification would be valuable
- A full New Zealand driver licence
- Ability to complete all required pre-employment and safety checks

You will be expected to build trusted relationships, uphold the mana of whānau and contribute to cultural development through activities such as karakia, waiata and hui where appropriate.
