MPU Operatror (South Island) x 2

RedBull Powder Company manufactures a range of explosive products and provides comprehensive drilling and blasting services to quarries, mines and construction projects in New Zealand.

We are recruiting a for 2 x Truck Drivers to operate bulk Mobile Processing Units (MPU) at the RedBull Macraes Mine, East Otago operation.

The MPU carries the raw ingredients to manufacture bulk emulsion to the job site.

The MPU operator will provide timely delivery of bulk emulsion services and associated tasks in a safe, efficient manner and professional manner always demonstrating the Company’s Values and Culture. The role is more than just driving the truck.

Responsible for

Driving and operating the Mobile Processing Unit (MPU) - the emulsion re-pump unit and ancillary equipment

Providing support to the OGL Shot Firing Team

Completing and supporting other activities that complement RedBull’s blasting services

Heavy lifting and manual handling

• Assisting on the bench, at the blast site or at the RedBull site
• Ensuring efficient and safe operation of MPU’s in strict adherence to established procedures and manuals.
• Conducting timely maintenance with thorough documentation.
• Accurately completing all transportation, delivery, and quality control documentation.
• Accounting meticulously for all raw materials loaded into MPUs and dispensed at customer sites.
• Ensuring prompt and complete delivery of all products.
• Undertaking general tasks as assigned by the Operations Supervisor.

You will need to have

Class 4 Driver Licence, with truck driving experience

Clean slate criminal background and no serious traffic violations within last 7 years

Excellent communication and personal presentation skills

A current Dangerous Goods Endorsement would be beneficial, but we can upskill the right applicant

Be strong, fit and healthy to enter and exit the truck safely and for heavy lifting and manual handling tasks

Quarrying or mining environment experience, especially in truck operating, is an advantage

The role is mostly based outdoors and can be physically demanding.

Ideally the successful candidate would reside in the East Otago area.

Transport is available from Palmerston to the mine site.

This position is available for an immediate start and is rostered; 7 days rostered on and 7 days rostered off, (Thurs to Wed). The rosters cover weekends; therefore the role involves weekend work. Start time is 6.30am.

The successful applicant will need to be eligible to work in NZ, be 18 years or older, hold a current, driver licence (without conditions or restrictions), complete a Ministry of Justice background check, driver licence check, ACC history check and complete a pre-employment medical  including drug and alcohol testing. The position will also be subject to ongoing random testing.
