Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Occupational Health Management
- -Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the company’s occupational health strategy.
- -Develop and maintain workplace health risk assessments, health surveillance programmes, and medical screening initiatives in line with statutory requirements.
- -Coordinate pre-employment health assessments, return-to-work evaluations, and fitness-for-task assessments.
- -Advise management on occupational health risks, control measures, and workplace adjustments.
Employee Well-Being and Support
-Develop evidence-based well-being programmes covering mental health, stress management, resilience, ergonomics, lifestyle health, and related areas.
-Oversee the provision of Employee Assistance Programmes (EAPs) and other support services.
-Promote a culture of well-being through awareness campaigns, training, and engagement activities.
Safety, Compliance & Policy Development
- -Ensure organisational compliance with relevant Irish legislation, including the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act and industry-specific regulations.
- -Develop, update, and implement occupational health and well-being policies and procedures.
- -Provide expert guidance on incident management, workplace accommodations, and ergonomic assessments.
- -Maintain accurate and confidential health records in accordance with GDPR and professional standards.
Strategic Leadership
-Contribute to organisational strategy by integrating health and well-being objectives with business goals.
-Lead cross-functional initiatives related to health and safety culture improvement.
-Analyse occupational health data and produce regular reports for senior management.
Training & Education
-Deliver or coordinate training on occupational health, mental health awareness, ergonomics, hazard identification, and other relevant topics.
-Build capacity among managers and employees to support health and well-being initiatives.
Stakeholder Engagement
-Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, HR, health professionals, insurers, regulatory bodies, and safety representatives.
-Manage relationships with third-party occupational health providers and specialists.
5. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
-Effective delivery of occupational health and well-being programmes.
Compliance with all relevant legislation and internal policies.
-Reduction in workplace health risks and improvement in employee well-being metrics.
-Timely reporting and accurate maintenance of health-related documentation.
-Positive engagement and participation in well-being initiatives.
-Contribution to a demonstrably improved health and safety culture.
Qualification and Experience required
- Degree in health, medical, dental or relevant.
- An elective 0 to 2 years work experience in similar area, field, role
- Training shall be provided on job
