Packing House Worker

Workers will perform packinghouse and shipping duties for greenhouse-grown head lettuce after harvest. Duties include sorting and grading lettuce according to size, quality, and customer specifications; packing product into cartons and containers; weighing, labeling, and sealing packages; and palletizing finished product for cold storage and shipment. Workers will move packed product within the packing facility using pallet jacks and assist with staging pallets for delivery and loading outbound shipments. Additional duties include maintaining supply levels of packaging materials, assisting with shipment preparation, and keeping packing and shipping areas clean and organized in accordance with food safety and sanitation standards. Workers may rotate between packing, labeling, palletizing, staging, and shipping support duties as needed based on production and order requirements. There are few typical days, and duties may vary depending on operational needs. The employer reserves the right to increase pay or provide bonuses based on tenure, performance, or other factors at the sole discretion of the employer.

Requirements: 2 months of experience. Job requires having or being able to obtain a drivers license within 30 days of hire. Basic English literacy skills are required. Job will require periods when workers may be exposed to varying weather conditions and extensive pushing, pulling, sitting, walking, stooping, bending, or repetitive movements.
