Personal Lines Broker

Role Overview

Reporting to Benny Sheridan, CEO, the successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of personal lines new business and renewals, advising clients in relation to personal lines insurance, maintaining regulatory compliance, and managing ongoing client and insurer relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing advice on all aspects of insurance, ensuring clients understand the terms and extent of the cover provided in line with industry regulations.
• Advising clients in relation to personal lines insurance and assessing their insurance needs and risk profile.
• Negotiating terms and placing business with underwriters.
• Delivering first-class customer service to maintain existing client relationships and add new clients.
• Researching insurance companies' policies and negotiating with underwriters to find the most suitable insurance cover for clients.
• Advising clients on risk management and helping to devise ways to mitigate risk, for example by recommending security measures such as fencing, surveillance cameras or lighting to commercial properties.
• Maintaining regulatory compliance in line with Central Bank of Ireland requirements.
• Developing and managing ongoing relationships with customers, insurance companies and underwriters.

Qualifying Criteria

• The successful applicant should have an APA qualification (min). Applicants need to demonstrate compliance with the Central Bank of Ireland's Minimum Competency Code. In line with Central Bank guidelines, the successful applicant will be required to maintain their CPD hours annually.
