Job Description

Supervise the daily operation of the Phlebotomy service, ensuring appropriate staffing and professional standards.
Supervise staff performance, sickness absence, appraisals, training, competencies and development.
Coordinate rotas, annual leave, overtime and shift cover to meet service requirements.
Maintain effective communication with staff, patients and internal and external service users.
Maintain quality and safety documentation, including SOPs, risk assessments, COSHH assessments and audits.
Monitor incidents, errors, complaints, KPIs and service performance, taking action to address areas of concern.Support recruitment, interviewing and induction of new Phlebotomy staff.
Monitor stock, equipment and supplies to ensure continuity of service.
Maintain patient confidentiality, infection control, cleanliness and safe working practices.
Provide support to the Phlebotomy Management team and contribute to the continuous improvement of the service.
